Phil is a graduate of three different universities and has 25+ years holding senior-level positions in both the aerospace and asset management industries. He began his career as a systems engineer supporting the integration of highly complex systems aboard US Navy reconnaissance aircraft, before pursuing a career in the finance and investment industry focusing on quantitative research. Phil held senior roles at Vanguard where he focused his efforts on building highly functioning teams focused on risk management, building out investment infrastructure, and investment operations. After 13 years at Vanguard, Phil could no longer contain his passion for aerospace so he returned to a career supporting niche aircraft systems for the US military (in direct support of the global war on terrorism).  After his second "tour of duty" in engineering, Phil returned to asset management working for a top 5 bank where he held senior leadership roles creating highly functioning teams focused on investment infrastructure.  Most recently, Phil has started a consulting group (Silverback Consulting) focused on providing technology companies with business development and program management support, that is, when he is not spending his time building out the vision for Silverback Investment Partners.
